It’s around this time every year that we start to look towards the new year and what exciting things it will hold for us all.
The fashion and interiors industries see constant changes in trends from season to season and from year to year.
While I’m not one to follow trends, I do still embrace them and always look forward to seeing what each new year has in store for us.
Geometrics and metallics were big in 2015 and I think they will continue to be hot trends in 2016. There are so many ways that we can use both subtle and bold geometric shapes and patterns in our home depending on your personal preference and home style.
One big trend that I see taking our kitchens by storm in 2016 is texture. Enhance and soften the trend for geometrics and metallics with some warm and inviting texture for a bang on trend and exciting interior.
Introduce texture on cabinet fronts, splash backs and benchtops wit textured laminate, raised pattern tiles and real timber.
Throw in a bit of mint for good measure and you have a fresh and bright scheme that can easily be adapted when you need a change, swapping out the mint for another of 2016’s hot colours such as dusty pink.
