Colour of the Year 2016

I’m a bit of a girly girl at heart so I was very excited to see Pantone’s Colour of the Year announcement for 2016.

This year, for the first time, they have announced not one but two stunning colours, Rose Quartz and Serenity. Visit the Pantone Website to read more.

In the lead up to Pantone’s announcement, Houzz Australia also asked some industry professionals, including myself, what we thought Pantone might reveal as their colour of the year this year. There were some great predictions, with a couple of pretty accurate ones. My prediction was peach, a colour that Pantone lists in one of their colour pairings to go with Rose Quartz and Serenity (Peach Quartz in Pairing number 7 below).

About their Colours of the year, Pantone says “Whether in soft or hard surface material, the pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation. Appealing in all finishes, matte, metallic and glossy, the engaging combo joins easily with other mid-tones including greens and purples, rich browns, and all shades of yellow and pink. Add in silver or hot brights for more splash and sparkle.”
